The Club assists the Canadian Cancer Society in it's fundraiser, Relay for Life. For the past 15 years the Cosmos have entered two teams who walk around the Harry Jerome Track in the Prime Ministers Park for 12 hours with as many as 60 other teams. Starting at 6 PM on Friday until 6 AM Saturday morning these relays take place all across North America raising millions of dollars for Cancer research. Walkers obtain pledges in their fundraising efforts. Cosmos assist with the setup of the Luminaries early Friday morning. They use their trucks to haul sand to the track. School students fill the bags with sand and a candle to be lit at nightfall. Food is always a part of any Cosmo event and a barbecue is a great way to prepare for the evening relay.
